CANDYLAND

Ronnie111 and Other  Minority Shareholders.

A class action is a decent bet,  IF you can find a firm that is willing to take it on contingency.

I have been involved in a few on both sides of the border.  Started investing in Canadian junior minors and E&P companies quite profitably now for about 13 years.

Had one cse that was settled for about $5M  Can.  The insurance company paid some of it.  The Company paid some of it,   the BOD got off essentially scott free!!

Doneybrook Energy spin off of Donnycreek Energy was the Case.     Dough Worndl was the lawyer with Siskinds.    He is now with a smaller firm in Canada.  Google him and contact him and see what he says.

The other guy I have talked to him a few times.  Never developed a case,  but his firm looks decent.    They are working on Pretium resouces case,  a fairly untried and difficult claim,   AND   the CLASS has been certified by the judge.   That is good progress to get this far!!

This guys name is Andrew Morganti,   amorganti@morgantico.com.     248-787-6078.

These class action reps work for about 30-35% of the take.   They do it on contingency.

This CORE GOLD case,   imo,  is about the most screwed up Breach of Duty  etc.  etc. situation I have seen in Candyland in my 13 years sniffing around up there.

Good luck!!

Spell Correction.  It was Donnybrook Energy.   Settled for $5.5M Douglas M.  Worndl is at Rochon Genova in Toronto.   416-363-1867.  ext 312 dworndl@rochongenova.com IMO he is very good,   as is  A. Morganti. We had a small problem initially finding a shareholder to represent the class,  as I did not own shares of Donnybrook/Donnycreek during the class ...more

This is is on strikeman Elliot’s website, I believe that was core golds council for the merger.  Either way, it’s a ruling in Delaware that is considered to apply to Canadian directors.  To paraphrase: the ruling states that directors are responsible for ensuring all assets are actually owned by the company even if it’s in another country, they must retain professionals from the area to ...more

Thankyou Malpeque2 for your comments.   I agree with you that this is a very fuked up deal.  I don't have enough experience to say it is the worst ever.  Judge Groves more or less said that.   And you said in the case you were familiar with the settlement was for $ 5 m, and the class action reps do it for 30-35% , so in that case they would have earned less than ...more

I find this very interesting. One of the questions I forgot to ask Mr Clough was if he wouldn't have thought that a duty as a Core Director might not have included checking out Titan's so called assets.  In person. I just looked and you can get a flight to Lima for C $732 return.  He flys to Lima, takes a day basically.  Next day rents a car and driver and drives to Titan ...more
