There’s more cost, at least partially because the judge wants the old one pulled up. That means the line is out of service for a year. THAT would be nasty. If the old one HAS to be pulled up, they can run the new one on the new route and then pull up the old one. Still expensive, but fewer side effects. We’ll see.

That is not true, they can easily lay the new pipe next to the old one in the same trench, and cut over to the new one in sections and pull the old one. No one is gonna give them any flak for putting the new pipe right next to the old one.

If they have the room in the right-of-way to do that, why spend all the money to survey a new route?

they would have to shut down the old pipe while installing the new pipe. Approx 19 months without the cash flow of the old pipe. That is the reason
