Cannot understand why anyone would buy enb when they can buy

Enf . At .700 shares of enb for an Enf share if one buys the Enf they are getting enb at a discount.
simple!

If the buyout occurs. If not, I expect ENF will lose the 5% premium immediately and then will fall further because it appears it is no longer a sponsored vehicle for ENB. .

Will not happen, as for sponsored vechicle - legal obligation, enb cannot just say it's over  also and more importantly - enb said it will simplify its organization , it has to make roll  up occur or lose credibility

ENB can’t “make” anything happen. They have made an offer to purchase all remaining shares of ENF, but the shareholders have to accept before anything happens.

Not so simple. There’s been lots of discussion about the ratio and how it was derived. Not everyone agrees that the ratio is fair, never mind discounted.
