What does "funded" mean?

I assume it does not mean that EHT received "deposits" because then the NR would have used the word, "deposits".   Did UNOPS put some money somewhere?  Did Ghana put some money somewhere?  Who "funded" it and how?

It means the money is there to be doled out when appropriate. gl

If it was as simple as that, wouldn't the money be doled out to EHT for deposits on the solar equipment?

No, it's not that easy. Material generally has to be on site before a deposit is made.

Really?  I was always under the impression, at least as far as EHT's business goes, that it required deposits before manufacturing and / or delivering its products.   Where is the reduction in risk of a deposit requirement be if you deliver the product to the site before getting the deposit? And, can anyone confirm which entity has "funded" the project?  UNOPS ...more

I"ve worked on a lot goverment contracts and was never afforded the luxury of the goverment giving me a deposit before at least materials were on site. You need to show financial responsibility, have liability insurance ETC. Dealing with a private individual or company is a lot different than Goverments. Of course, I'm talking Canadian Govt. and just maybe Ghana's policies are ...more
