Canada's First Housing Benefit

Wonder if EHT will have part of it...!

The Government of Canada is currently rolling out its National Housing Strategy (NHS), an ambitious 10-year, $55 billion plan that will create 125,000 new housing units and lift 530,000 families out of housing need, as well as repair and renew more than 300,000 housing units and reduce chronic homelessness by 50 per cent.

$55 billion for 125,000 free houses being distributed. That's $458,333 per house. Who is paying for this when we are running budget deficits? I am also not sure why it costs so much for a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment unless they are building it all in Toronto. With the $28.5 billion Ontario public transit plan announced by Ontario government, they can easily have these houses built far away from ...more

They must not even know about it or we would already have been told they were awarded some big contract or another contract along with their JV partner, fictitious business entity that no one has ever heard of.
