Way Over priced?

Crazy opening for EMC.  I wouldn't touch it for a little while though to let the froth come off.  And let them prove themselves like the front runners have.  Look what ICC did after a week or two after opening day (down 40 - 50%).  I may get some though once it levels out and comes back down to earth and we get an idea subscriber base, revenue etc. (they haven't provided any of that info. yet...).  3.40 on opening day?? A lot of hype with this one.  And don't they have over 100,000 shares outstanding??   I could buy OGI for less which has already proven itself and is making profit...  I may be missing something here but waaaaay too much in my book.  There isn't even an 'Investors' section of their webpage....really??

Thoughts?

EMC has a better plan and foot print than EMC i think. They also have a good foundation with the pharma arm with the ex ceo from Purdue canada joining in. Purdue is the maker of some of the most abused pain drugs out there..... volume in most MJ stocks have dried up and alot of it here moving in here i think. A lot of folks still dont know abt this and i wouldnt be surprised if this doubles from ...more

Double by the end of the week???  Are you kidding me?  Sure they have a guy from big pharma but its all hype at the moment.  They just started taking medicinal orders = barely any renue stream!!  This is going to come down to earth folks, mark these words.  I may jump in around 1.50 tops or just stick with my top 3 (Aph, OGI and CGC).

EMC belongs in the same space as APH OGI and CGC. The Market Cap for EMC is lower however than those others even at $4 per share for reasons you stated but those reasons will soon be solved and then the Market Cap will have to reflect that like the other big 3. Best of Luck to all And All IMHO!
Comment by VENMan on Dec 12, 2016 1:48pm
The only other thing I would consider about the price is that the $1.15 pricing was completed on Oct 14 and on that date CGC was trading at $5.58 APH was $3.47 and OGI was $2.37. They're all trading much higher today than in Oct and the Market is reflecting at in EMC today. This is all IMO, please do your own DD before buying or selling any stock. Best of luck to All!

Last portion of pp closed Dec 7.(2m) Just goes to show-the more things change, the more they stay the same. On principle alone I wouldn't buy something today at double what the connected guy got yesterday. Hope the kids didn't spend all the college loan (see ceapro) Good luck here
Comment by darter2 on Dec 12, 2016 3:59pm
Yes but theres a crucial difference, APH, CGC and OGI are selling massive amounts of medicinal weed NOW, with tens upon thousands of buyers already signed up.  APH and OGI are making a profit.  EMC started selling a few weeks back...very, very late to the game.  Not to mention the highest priced electricity in all of Canada.  Yes they have great mgt but so do others and if it ...more

I might add that a lot of these stocks have 'millenial'  investors (I use the term loosely)who don't understand the market and yank bucks that have an undue influence. The usual crowd will clean up in the end. Trade wisely;more importantly, invest wisely, and teach the lino lizards the same. Happy holidays
Comment by VENMan on Dec 12, 2016 4:16pm
darter2, I totally respect your opinion but EMC has a current Market Cap of $211 million vs CGC Market Cap of $1.1 Billion. EMC at current valuations is 5 times smaller which I feel more than accounts for the issues you mentioned. Best of luck to all and all IMO

So, 211 million market cap on opening day when they just started actually selling weed a few weeks ago and we have no clue how many medicinal users are actually signed up (maybe in the hundreds? woohoo) or what kind of revenue stream they have.  Where on their website can I find their financial information??  I know its a bit trivial but that alone is a red flag for me.  A 200 ...more

Thought the same but the maker dictated the price today. Bought some just in case she runs and never hits theses levels again. If she drops I buy more . Will one day be at Cgc share price so stock up  with what you can afford and sell some to pay off investment . Ride the rest to the bank and wait until # on the board . It was the same with Cgc while they had  no revenue . Bought that at ...more

I think people overlook the value of the warrants as well. They have a strike price of $1.75 I think the news release said. I bought a bunch at 1.35-1.60 (average about 1.48). So 1.48+1.75 = 3.23. That is my all-in max price. If this thing ever hits $8-10, that is guaranteed $5-7ish profit per share. I do agree about CGC. It is the same as ACB. Aside from massive amounts of shares that came on to ...more

Gee what surprise, EMC is dropping!  Even after the governments announcement!  The big 3 are up!  See you guys at sub 2.  May grab some then.
Comment by SJSilver on Dec 13, 2016 12:27pm
Let me know when you get in at sub 2 - ill transfer you all my shares if you do lol
Comment by darter2 on Dec 13, 2016 12:55pm
Can I get that in writing?? ;)  Good luck everyone.  This stock will no doubt rock down the road, just way over inflated on hype right now...  PI gave them a 12 month forcast of $3.25.  IN TWELVE MONTHS, not now....  Lets see what they can do once they release some quartery revenue news...
Comment by SJSilver on Dec 13, 2016 1:25pm
To be quite frank with you I dont think it is over inflated by much at all, especially not in comparison to other players in the industry. One could say the same about CGC and its p/t. None the less a price target is as clueless as a blind monkey throwing a dart... IMO EMC will def rock down the road, but in the meantime dont see going for less than 2.80...again just an opinion. Too qualified ...more

23 mil @ $1.15/sh wwill come free trading in MArch....so, yeah, right now it is over-priced.... anything, currently above the wrt strike price is over-priced....in the short term...but u're right, in the long term I expect this company to do very well....

Hey, we both have own opinions here.  I just hate to see newbie investors jumping in here and getting fleeced when there isn't much to jump into right now other than big promises.  Six months from now - maybe a different story, we'll know where these guys stand. If you want to invest on hype (which could work well these days too but hugely risky) then go for it.  I forgot ...more

they will have the production with the expansion in early 2017 to be on-par with OGI, plus the added benefit of Pharm powerhouses pushing this thing through their contacts and established network. by the phase 4 in late 2017 and early 2018 they will be a rooted money machine and licences will continue to fuel the demand side of the story. The news is just gonna keep coming out of the government ...more

Come Late Jan should see 2.50 my guess ,then when they put # on the board should sky rocket. So buy on dips until she bottoms or just try and time that bottom wherever it be ?

wait, so you cant know when the price will go down on a brand new stock in one of the worlds currently most volatile and over inflated markets? Come one...what kind of investor are you!? ...see ya in 3 weeks when those at 3.50 sell for tax breaks.
Comment by Garry711 on Dec 12, 2016 11:35am
ICC is Nothing compared to EMC...as you will see in the future. This is a real viable company with a lot to offer the shareholders.....Bought well and holding for the long run ....
Comment by Todd604 on Dec 14, 2016 12:16am
If you feel stock is overpriced, wouldn't it be beneficial to short it? Can you even short EMC? Sorry never shorted before.
