Posting because of this quote:

"Fundamentally, you have to think about brands, distribution channels. Those are things that are ultimately going to be the winners, so you look at companies from that sort of perspective," he said.

"If you got something that is differentiating and something that is meaningful as a small niche player, absolutely those are things that people like. Product companies, things that are going to bring something different to the table than just ‘I’m an licensed producer and I can produce X amount”

As the market matured and institutional investors move in this is what is going to drive company valuations. A 10M sq ft greenhouse is worthless if consumers don’t want your product.

Does anybody even know what Molson Coors or InBevs production capacity is? No, it’s not published in their investor decks or asked about in their earnings calls because it is completely irrelevant.

If that were the only thing TGOD had going on I'd agree with you, but the company is so much more than one thing and IMO will surprise a lot of people. Time will tell where it settles after the IPO, many believe it will be one of the Big 5 out there.

Enlighten me, what does it have going for it? This certainly doesn’t fill me with confidence: https://archive.is/2OLvl “By 2022, TGOD expects to grow 116,000 kilograms of marijuana a year, according to the prospectus. Today, its Hamilton facility has room for just 1,000 kg of product and the company has decided to use any of the cannabis it has harvested for research and product development ...more

You are spot on!!!   It is my opinion that marijuana will commoditize (< 3yrs) very quickly.   MJ will eventually recede into the agricultural commodity category much like corn and soybeans.    The farmers don't make the money...the branders do!!!   Green Giant, Delmonte, Libby's etc...   I suspect there will be a reckoning in the ...more
