Interesting to see which Cannabis Co's are most active in their lobbying efforts in the past 12 months:

 

MedReleaf - 19;

Canopy - 17;

Emblem - 16;

National Access - 14;

Aphria - 2; 

Organigram - 1;

Cronos - 1; and

Green Orgranic Dutchman - 1.

 

That's of course no guarentee of anything. Just interesting.

Here's the main lobbyist for Emblem, Marc Desmarais. He's Vice President of National Public Relations (One of, if not the, largest PR firms in Canada).

National's clientele include: Ford, Bombardier, Lockheed Martin, Canada Jetlines, Activia, Cocego, Atlantic Credit Unions, Quebec Association of Pharmacy Owners, the list goes on and on...including speechwriting for Justin Trudeau (can't be too bad an association to have).

What do the numbers mean beside the company name? Is Emblem ranked 16th in lobbying?

Those numbers represent how many separate lobbying events or conversations have taken place between Emblem's consultant and a person in a position of influence in government.   Here's an example: Marc Desmarais' activity in the last 12 months on Emblem's behest.  The most recent activity is from April/18/2018.
