motive for this horrible deal?

Could it be that the larger shareholders of emblem such as Harvey and Max have received some sort of special deal from the Serruya family if they give up their shares very cheaply? Or perhaps the family will be investing in fire and flower?

I think if this deal gets done those larger shareholders may get paid out in cash not too long after the deal went through. I think that’s their motivation. If they really wanted to protect their investment they wouldn’t be selling out to a company that has not even a third of what emblem has. 

Thoughts anyone?

I suppose that major shareholders want to be free to sell their shares, and if someone has made them an offer for their shares, they could just offer to pay them more than what they are paying other shareholders. After the company is sold they wouldn't be subject to disclosure requirements, and can just transfer their shares privately. Straight out of the russian oligarch's playbook. That, ...more
