The scenerio you mentioned is very “real”. Alef already did this when they purchased Canabo. The day of the merger, all Canabo shareholders could not sell their shares as Alef structured the transfer of shares a few days later; ooops we are sorry they said, the paperwork did not get completed on time. Brokerage houses were tied to the paperwork! However tons of shares were sold until the price was 70% lower. Shareholders were crying out foul but you had smart people on the other end, people who did not care about shareholders, people like ex police officers and politicians. Most called it a con as these types of actions are not by mistake. Stay calm, but........
