The fear/greed index moves into extreme fear (24) territory

I love seeing that.  

Why?

Because it isn't sustainable.  Sure the market could go down more and for longer, but eventually, the pros will fill their hats and the commentary will change.  Old game, same rules.

Yep...the index has been there for about a week.  Since fear is a stronger emotion than greed, the index usually spends less time in this category then it does at the opposite end (Extreme Greed). The fact that the VIX has calmed down to 20 which is a little above its normal average suggests to me that we will likely see the fear subside pretty soon.  So with that in mind, I am giving ...more
