From the October News release below.... the AR yeast is an "Industry wide solution". I would think that in contrast to the wine yeast which replaces yeasts currently used the AR yeast is an
entirely new or "additional" supply of yeast comming to the order books of the yeast companies. I assume the potatoe processing "industry-wide objective" implies an "industry-wide" acceptance of the technology.
Is there any word on how much yeast is used in this process for the "more than half" of the worlds 315 M tonnes of potatoes annual production???
What sort of prices would this kind of yeast command???
Which yeast MFG. co has the ability to produce these quantities??? (suitor)?
from 10/28........
The processed potato industry, which includes French fries and potato chips, has been actively seeking and utilizing acrylamide mitigation approaches for some time, with limited success to date.
Given this important industry-wide objective, a leading global manufacturer of frozen foods is now evaluating Functional Technologies' AR yeast for application in its potato products.
On an annual basis, this industry handles more than half of the world's production of 315 million tonnes of potatoes, so treating this volume of potatoes represents a compelling market application and business opportunity for Functional Technologies' AR yeast.
