You are making quite a few assumptions about my beliefs. I think we all know what the end result of making assumptions is. Actually I find your views on this to be extremist. Not everyone believes definitively that there is or isn't a God. There are agnostics, and they're not crackpots. I do believe in the possibility of the manipulation of the gold price; not by "faceless bureaucrats" but by the fed governors, who want the economy to run smoothly and to hide true inflation. I'm not sure this is happening; but I strongly believe in the possibility. I really have sympathy for anyone who constantly accepts the way things "appear to be" without questioning them. Sheep are easily led wherever the "shepard" wants to lead them. Who of us has first hand information on what really is? Was it George Bernard Shaw who stated that the difference between paper money and gold was was faith in politicians versus holding something of substance, and he would always take gold. Dave

Dave, I see three weaknesses in GATA (Gold Anti-Trust Action Committee) arguments: 1) We only hear accusations from GATA, never other plausible explanations. Often there are at least a few alternatives to explain any given event, yet GATA is only willing to present opinions that lend support for their conspiracy theory.
