Was AltaCorp the right choice??

Anyone else wondering if AltaCorp is the reason that this stock is still lagging? Would a different company have created way more traction by now?? I mean, I know it has only been two months since the IPO but we are still at IPO prices!!!! I was expecting a lot more out of this stock at this point.

The current volume with this stock is embarassing for being in the MMJ sector.

I feel your pain Daniel Boone, CMED's strength's seem to overshadow their weaknesses, and with other fair value assessment's (MorningStar) this stock is underperforming and volume is low. CMED was also initially left off the Emerging Agrosphere ETF (Filled with all CMED's competitors), I don't know if that has changed or not. Either way they seem to be lagging behind a bit on ...more

They were probabely left off due to the low volume and high SP. The risk of buying 500k shares or even 100k shares and being unable to sell it can seem very real. That's not to say they aren't very undervalued atm, but you need the market to see your companies potential, which they aren't atm.

I agree with you Bob,... Altacorp does bare some responbsibility with regards to the lower # of shares offered and higher initial stock price.. I would assume it was intended to attract institutional investment short/long term but as you say,, it does hinder retail investment and day traders.  I just seems AltaCorp has been fairly quiet thus far  and deserve a little bit of scrutiny on ...more

The sector is run by day traders and retail investor right now. Of which 90% don't understand anything about value or market cap. They see a stock for 12 dollars and a stock for 3 dollars and just throw there money in blind. Not to mention that cmed is very thinly traded due to the low amount of outstanding shares. If everyone is holding it gets very thin. Like I said yesterday. Without a ...more

Rec isn't legal yet, and frankly might not be for a long time. The bottom line is Junior Trudeau set his legalization policy based on his belief that Clinton would win the election. The current US administration is against legalaization, and may pass federal legislation that repeals the progress the states have made with legalization. CMED is sticking to their guns and moving ahead with their ...more

The bottom line is Clinton or trump makes no difference for Canadian MJ policy. And if you think it does you must be American living in the center of the universe. If trump made MJ illegal and enforced at the federal US level. What does that mean for CANADA federal level? Nothing. Not a single thing would change from today. Can trump stop Americans from entering canada to smoke MJ? No. Can he stop ...more

Wow, that was a tangent. All I'm saying is there are big challenges ahead for legalizing rec use and several international treaties which need to be ratified to allow it. I was an original investor in Tweed, and another company which Tweed acquired (MedCann Access) and have participated in several other financings for Aphria, Mettrum, Hemisphere, and Tinley, and have a stake in a private ...more

Aye. Didn't want to come off as offensive. I think January 2018 rec is going to start. But yes. Probabely Jan 2019 is when you are going to see the big revenues start to come in. It's the government. There slow AF. I do see a mail order system initially. Giving the government time to open federally licensed establishments. Private dispenseries will never happen. And people who think they ...more
