Weed is a global business and as much as I love the Hip, no one outside of Canada gives a sh!t about them.  It's a foolish reason to buy into a company and is way overvalued as a name.  Expecially considering the marketing restrictions for this industry in Canada.

HEMP was a great play at 75 cents when nobody wanted them and I passed them up thinking its HEMP not Cannabis and then ACB came along and saw the value and I missed out. I won't make the same mistake with VIDA which is all CBD right now but will move into THC I'm sure when the time is right. Makes me wonder how many people that think like your wife may be investing in HIP. If they bought because they like the Tragically Hip and if the hype continues they will keep buying to be apart of it until they can’t.

@Dontpanic, they love the Tragically Hip and will simply by there stock and UP Cannabis product for that reason. Tim Horton's must of started out the same way. People love hockey they're in a hurry in the early morning, they need a coffee, so they stopped off at Tim Horton's. The rest is history, today Tim Horton's is huge.

I have been saying right from the beginning ACB (Terry B) has wanted them from the start and are just down playing it for optics.  If you compare Shoop Dog (Canopy) to The Tragically Hip the Hip has a much wider appeal in Canada.  They truly are a brand builder on home turf.  VENMan just ask your Wife, or you’re Sister.  People our age can identify, almost human nature.

I agree, like the music or not they are the iconic Canadian band and the fact that they didn’t want or make a break in to the US music scene makes them even more endearing to a lot of Canadians. The fact that they have close relationship to Justin Trudeau (like him or not) the Priminister to legalize marajuana, who would be better to brand.

@Stonyguy, I agree with you 100%. My Wife and friends at work including our country's PM all cried with the passing away of their Band Leader. Myself, I love RUSH! If RUSH gets into Pot I'm buying. This conversation brings something else to mind...HIP shareholders voted overwhelmingly in favour of the merger with CMED at 3:100 share conversion. In light of recent events and more potential Tragically hip fans jumping on the band wagon (so to speak) could there be fall out from those same people (fans) with the same deal inlight of the recent increase of HIP share prices? I agree, people can relate.. Marketing is HUGE !!!!!! One the most important keys to selling a product. Not sure about ya'll experience with weed but the most exposure i had was all at music shows and festivals. Snoop big in the US, Hip big here at home,  ACB being from out west i have to wonder if they got a world touring act from BC like Nickleback waiting in the wings to help promote

The biggest difference is that SNOOP DOG is ALIVE and the front man of The Hip IS NOT!  Snoop is global!  The Hip are local.  There's as many or more people in California than ALL OF CANADA. Put your patriotism aside and wake up.  The Hip branding in a heavily regulated market is virtually worthless.  The remaining members of a Canadian rock band means NOTHING AT ALL

For the same reason you should watch PREV.  One of the mgmt team was in ACB near the beginning. PREV is 50cents with 50,000,000 shares out. HIP hit $2.60 with almost 400,000,000 out. Do the math.
