GB Group Ord Shs > Mr. Zettle.....

Mr. Zettle.....

I think all us longs owe a big thank you to Brent Zettle. Gotta hand  it to the guy he stood his ground and knew his company was worth way more than the $24 original offer, and he fought off a hostile takeover by a much larger and better funded company who had the help of almost 40% of insider shareholders. He got slagged a lot, but his actions over the last couple of months were nothing short of brilliant and well executed, and he made us all a lot more dough in the end. Salut Brent!

Thorgb1, what is the possibility that Weed or Aph might try to top Acb's bid?  Acb has the right to match but if they thought the value was there, they could at least push Acb.  I think the possibilty is small with a $1.1B valuation, but an all cash would trump the Acb's small cash portion. Just a thought. Skater

Incredibly small, if not infinitesimally small. Had either of these companies had any serious interest, I suspect we would have heard long ago. This is also a friendly transaction with Management’s support and the paper support of 50%+ of shareholders, so I’d say you should more/less consider this a done deal at this point.

There's a bunch of "customary" disclaimers in the Aurora offers.  Anyone have details on those?   I've been called a market monster myself but compare to these monsters, I really have NO CLUE what "customary" is.  If it's "cost to Mary", yeah, she's bent over and has no idea what she's doing and what's going on the poor gal! ...more

I think all that’s available to general shareholders and the public right now is the press release. The legal documents and nitty-gritty details are probably still in the works or going through their final reviews. That ‘cost to Mary’ bit in your last post might have been the most hilarious thing I’ve seen you post here, I am actually cracking up at my desk. God, I love a good dose of cheesey ...more

HFHF, I'm here to learn, educate, make money and have fun!  Glad I make people laugh.  Too many people take clownhouse too seriously.  It's populated by clowns and bad actors! Seriously, I look forward to see the "customary" details because there is NOTHING customary about this sector and these market monster plays....

I concur with this assessment.

I tend to agree but I give me a 8/10...     I was really hoping for a 4.5... LOL  But I'm sitting pretty right now and the timing could not have been better it seems. Looks like the boys are starting to drive all of these WEED stocks down a LOT!
Comment by VENMan on Jan 24, 2018 5:38pm
@Protrading, I posted yesterday "Be Grateful if you get 3 now, CMED you Stupid Idiot" my calculations were closer than the 4.5 you thought we would get ya Door Knob. This deal is WORSE in comparison to the 4.5 we could have come to terms with  months ago. Not to mention the $9.5 MILLION we have to GIVE AWAY to HIP! I don't know what the legal terms are but in my world getting a ...more

@thorgb1, we owe BZ a big thank you? WTF you're so full of Sh!t.
Comment by thorgb1 on Jan 24, 2018 5:48pm
Yeah, those of us whose testicles have dropped and have a pair of balls actually got $43+ a share for our shares, not the $24 offer that sent you running for the hills at $19 and started your non stop whine. LOL. You can try to paint a false picture all you want, but the original offer was only 24 bucks. You sold out for less then that, cried about it, moaned about Zettle, and tried to get back in ...more
Comment by VENMan on Jan 24, 2018 6:12pm
@thorgb1, What sent me running for the Hills at $21 was the unprofessional approach Zettle took in dealing with  Booth at ACB. Putting out a News Release Claiming ACB CEO sold shares at $5 and with $50 Million in our bank giving 20% of that to HIP if they did not close the deal. Which now he still has to do? Was all the reason I needed to Run. Shareholders here like you got lucky. I'd ...more

LOL, my sad life made over a million bucks today, and you should change your screen name to SourGrapesMAN.........
Comment by VENMan on Jan 24, 2018 8:08pm
LOL, I don't want to sound like SourGrapes, It was Zettle that turned this investment into a big gamble by the way he acted and I don't gamble with my House Money. Congrats on making over a million bucks today but honestly, it won't do a thing to change your sad life. Take care
Comment by thorgb1 on Jan 24, 2018 8:39pm
No he didn't, it was the insiders who acted to sell the whole company without any authority and ACB who came in with a lowball offer thinking they could steal CMED with a lowball offer because they had the 38% locked in. Brent did a great job defeating that lowball offer, ACB and the 38% to sell CMED for almost twice the original offer. Now go back to your pity party SourGrapesMAN.
Comment by VENMan on Jan 24, 2018 10:13pm
If you think Brent did a great job, it just goes to explain your sad life because nobody with any brains would agree with you. Now listen to Diana Krall Peel me a Grape. Kind Regards SourGrapesMan.

VenMAN you’ve clearly never seen hostile takeovers before, eh. What Zettle did in the face of the opposition against him (ie 40%+ against him from the start) was quite impressive and maximized shareholder value. He used the tools at his disposal - if you want to be a baby and moan about how he tried to paint ACB ownership in his defence, whatever, but the fact of the matter is what he did ...more

@HFHF123, I have been in hostile takeovers before and lost. I acted accordingly to the actions of Mr Zettle, who turned this investment into a gamble. Giving 20% of our $50 million away, not wanting to pick up the phone sooner, filing a lawsuit. IMO those that held on gambled with their money. To each their own but I feel, those who held on could have ended up with a $725M messy lawsuit to deal ...more

Good - I’m happy you ended up well and are satisfied with your results in the end (at the end of the day, it’s not a competition here anyway). I still maintain that deploying some of the tactics he did ultimately helped pave the way for the friendly talks and higher deal value. Could he have played some things better? Maybe. But he also could have played them a lot worse too, or simply rolled ...more
