Grayscale Bitcoin Trust ETF
GBTC
Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (the Trust) is an investment vehicle. The Trust's purpose is to hold Bitcoins, which are digital assets that are created and transmitted through the operations of the peer-to-peer Bitcoin network, a decentralized network of computers that operates on cryptographic protocols. Its investment objective is for the value of the shares (based on Bitcoin per Share) to reflect...
the value of Bitcoin held by the Trust, determined by reference to the Index Price, less the Trust's expenses and other liabilities. The Trust's activities include issuing Baskets in exchange for Bitcoins transferred to the Trust; transferring or selling Bitcoins, Incidental Rights and IR Virtual Currency; transferring Bitcoins in exchange for Baskets surrendered for redemption; causing the Sponsor to sell Bitcoins, Incidental Rights and IR Virtual Currency on the termination of the Trust; and making distributions of Incidental Rights and/or IR Virtual Currency or cash from the sale thereof.

QBTC vs QBTC.U
IMPORTANT : If your account is in US dollars and you want to buy or sell Bitcoin Fund in US funds make sure the stock symbol has .u at the end.
Otherwise you will pay a 1.5% exchange fee to buy QBTC (since it is in Canadian dollars). Avoid these fees by always double checking
since some trading systems will often require you to add .u manually to the trading symbol. Even if you buy in US dollars, the current US
share price in your account balance is shown in Canadian dollars according to current exchange rate. ( definitely room for improvement here ! )
This happens with TD Webbroker and maybe others.

Both trade in US dollars. As of Nov. 30 : QBTC.u = 0.001114 of 1 Bitcoin per share = 19,036$US X 0.001114 = 21.21$ and with US$ share price at 22.61$US the premium is 6.2% over net asset (NAV). QBTC.u trades on Toronto Stock Exchange. GBTC = 0.00095169 of 1 Bitcoin per share = 19,036$US X 0.00095169 = 18.12$ and with US$ share price at 23.74$US
