Reported water rights values

From Claudia's reporting:

" Golden Hills Community Service District’s recent purchase of Tehachapi Basin water rights from Jeff Ciachurski for $10,000 per acre-foot appears to have set a new record for valuation — at least in terms of completed deals.

The amount Golden Hills paid was more than 53% higher than what the city of Tehachapi paid for rights it purchased from Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District in 2022. It was also 25% higher than the amount the city paid in three other recent deals. "

And:

"Water district records show that as of March 1, 2023, the city held 2,939 acre-feet of Tehachapi Basin water rights.

Since then, the city reports acquiring an additional 55 acre-feet of base water rights from two parties — 32 acre-feet from the Bozenich Family Trust Survivors Trust and 23 acre-feet from the Gerson Stiekman Trust.

City Clerk Tori Marsh said the city paid $7,500 per acre-foot for both purchases."

So you are saying that Strasser's water rights are more valuable than everyone else's? By 300+%? What makes that so?

Apparently there is only one definition of an acre foot -  "'Acre foot' is a term commonly used in water supply planning to describe water volume. An acre foot is approximately 326,000 gallons, which is enough water to cover an acre of land about 1-foot deep. As the diagram below shows, an acre foot of water is almost enough to flood a football field 1-foot deep." ...more

You'll have to be a bit more specific, that makes zero sense.
