While I'm all for gco... This news on a peace agreement means nothing!... As these reports come out Mr.Putin sent 50 tanks and 40 missle systems to ukraine.. And on top of that the pro-russian rebels refuse to sign a peace deal.. Sorry to say this doesn't restore my coincidence.

Edit typo- confidence

I disagree. I feel that this things has hit a climax recently. I think things will either become peaceful, or this is going to turn a major world conflict. Does anybody know when the sanctions on Russia can be lifted? Think things are looking up from here gents. Looking forward to some good news!

The difference this time is that the IMF has committed to a 40 billion bail out to keep Ukraine from defaulting on their debt. This is good news for Russia!
Comment by DRYOASIS on Feb 12, 2015 8:05pm
Sourmash you are bang on, what makes this peace deal different is the new bailout by the IMF.

You folks in North America don't get it. Putin is fighting in the Ukraine to divert attention away from problems in Russia and hence make sure he remains in power.  To an average Russian, they are fighting the US/ Evil West in the Ukraine.  The US is the enemy, this is message the media in Russia keeps on spreading, day in, day out.  Putin will not stop until the borders of Novo ...more

One thing that could help restore confidence is when PUTIN is replaced, dies or gone with the wind... and when he is PUTIN 6 ft under...12 ft should be a better choice, just in case he wants to come back. LOL With this guy you never know.  I wonder when will this happen and how Russia will react. He is playing with the nerves of a lot of people, nations and countries... including probably is ...more

Good4you, the americans think its Putin and the Russians think it's Obama.. My opinion is Obama! the Americans like to butt their nose in where it doesn't belong. Power and greed.. And lol 18 trillion in the hole!   Make sense to you ?
Comment by Clobro on Feb 12, 2015 2:52pm
I'm quite doubtful this has climaxed yet... Or even Amy talks as of yet about sanctions being lifted...I will remain hopeful though... Its unfortunate that we as well as gco are caught up in this stupidity between Russia and Ukraine.. Regardless of world conflicts.. Etc in the long run more and more cobalt will be needed.. Nuff said!
Comment by slippery007 on Feb 12, 2015 2:52pm
Perhaps you should re-read the news release.  It specifically states the pro-russian rebels have accepted the deal.  The ceasefire begins on Feb 15th.  The fact that this deal was witnessed and confirmed by other leaders tells me this thing is well on its way to full resolution...and hopefully a lift of sanctions will shortly follow.

The could have at least started the cease fire on Valentines day.. Now the fighters have to go home to pissed off wives

Mr. Putin? If you had a chance, would you call Bin-Laden Mr. bin-Laden? Saw some Russian opposition guy on TV last night. He had a brilliant observation about this lying thug: 'Putin wants to rule like Stalin, but live like Abramovich'.  It ain't gonna happen. something has got to give.  beef up those sanctions I say, it takes more than a gentle slap to restrain this ...more
