LP's

Where do you figure the ceiling is for Canopy and Aphria? I have to admit I feel a bit concerned for the sector as these stocks continue to overheat. It's all good except when they crash and bring down the others. Tetra should really not be effected as they are in a league of their own and have differentiated as pharma but they still can still be dragged down a bit. As I see these LP's skyrocket I can't help but think they will be corrected in a big way before legalization and that Tetra is going surge in their place with all that it has going for them.

I am surprised lps had the run they did, i am expecting a crash anytime soon. Realistically, the only thing Canada has going for it  right now is legislative support. Looking at the big picture, and considering climate and price of labor, it makes 0 sense to grow weed in Canda over places like Mexico and south America. Canada has to invest in fancy greenhouses, with heating etc, And those ...more

Very good points.

those countires will never grow weed just decriminalize
Comment by 4evergreen on Jan 10, 2018 10:25am
Curious how high you think the SP's for those will go then in your opinion.
Comment by ScienceGirl on Jan 10, 2018 10:32am
Why do you think they won’t? It drops the price below the dealer’s and all tax goes to the government  as well as licensing fees, etc(they create customers). There is a huge financial incentive to take the weed of the streets and produce locally via LPs. Furthermore, if every country where it is legalized makes specific requirements and standards for their own weed to guarantee only local is ...more

i think canopy will hit 80 dollars in a few years, it not just weed they are selling anymore they have so many other products going worldwide and its the brand.  those other countries health care systems and govrments are so third world and corrupt no one would want to do business with them because they know all that money will just go back to the black market.
Comment by ScienceGirl on Jan 10, 2018 11:06am
I was talking specifically about the growers. If you think about it all of our produce comes from those third world countries. Why? It is simply not worth it to grow it in Canada, it is actually cheaper to grow that far away and transport aaaaallllll the way to Canada. I think weed will be no different. I do agree there will be room for derivatives like oil and other products, but it makes no ...more

Great Point Science Girl !!! Thats what i am saying and thats where ICC comes in Fair valuation and part of ETF plus tons of room to run ... Tetra is good in its own league but ICC is awesome too

only the big lps like Maricann will stay alive. alot of them are building their own power plants on site to reduce the cost. they will probably have so much extra energy they will sell it off and make millions.
Comment by Hammertown87 on Jan 10, 2018 12:17pm
i also think tetra is a safe bet with huge gains to be made hopefully we see some news soon
Comment by 4evergreen on Jan 10, 2018 1:11pm
I think it all bodes well for Tetra in the Canadian MJ space though. They have the inside track with Health Canada and the FDA with the first legit clinical trial data to back up the safety and efficacy of it's use. With the DIN it will be covered by health insurance and prescribed further by doctors all over Canada. That isn't new info to most on this board but good to reiterate and to ...more

I totally agree Tetra is within the safest part of the MJ industry - pharma. I think they will also be less susceptible to prices of the raw product because of the DIN, even if someone else goes for a DIN with a similar type of product it will take years to catch up to Tetra at which point everyone will know about Rx Princeps and it will have the largest piece of the market share. Smart move on ...more

I think you missed part of my point. I didn’t say we’d be buyin mexican weed directly and by no means did i say we’d be getting the drug lord kind of stuff. There is room for inspection and implementing quality standards in other countries, pharma industries are known for that. It is about having ingredients that pass a certain quality standard, you can build facilities in countries where labor ...more

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.

How does growing outside effect product consistency, which I am assuming is massive in this market? I have been told not to invest in any producers that do not grow indoors, and do not have excellent setups in terms of environmental quality for plants in their greenhouses. I have been told that Aphria is tops in this aspect of its business. Anyone heard otherwise?
