The beauty of a NSR is that it can draw in institutional investors which can give an underlying support to a share as well as increase it. IMO a very good thing, a bit like a dividend and encourages long term investment.

It's important to understand that the 2% NSR will be spun off to shareholders via a new subsidiary. meaning it acts as an additional bargaining chip in case of an acquisition offer. It's intereting that the stock had a nice price jump the day before the announcement and then fell when announced, indicating that perhaps some people knew it was coming.
