Bullboard - Stock Discussion Forum Great Bear Resources Ltd. GTBAF

Great Bear Resources Ltd. is a Vancouver-based gold exploration company focused on advancing its 100% owned Dixie project in Northwestern Ontario, Canada. A significant exploration drill program is currently underway to define the mineralization within a large-scale, high-grade disseminated gold discovery made in 2019, the LP Fault. Additional exploration drilling is also in progress to... see more

OK, the real volume of the LP fault strike.

OK, what I did was print out this graphic from BBR's website. Then I drew 3D volume blocks over the strike. Using vernier calipers, I measured the blocks and determined their size relative to the 500 meter key in the lower right. Blocks A,B,C, D and F measured out to a total volume of 69,315,625 cubic meters.

69,315,625 x 2.91/31= 6,506,724 @ 1g/t Au

Block G was a guess because there are drill results there yet. I made it half as deep the other strikes and total volume for block G was 36,093,750 cubic meters.

36,093,750 x 2.91/31= 3,338,155

This a bad photoshop represntation of the method I used. I hope it comes out right.

Just a repost because it seemed to not get much attention the first time around. I believe it to be a fairly accurate representation of the volume of the LP Fault gold zone and using 1g/ton is a reasonable low ball estimate of the possible gold in the ground there. Also, now that the gap zone has some actual drill results, zone "G" in my calculations is based more in reality now. Make ...more

Captainpooby - I went back to this old post. Good work! My question is how did you arrive at 1gram average?  That seemed a bit of a guess compared to your other calculations, and you call it conservative. Do you have a realistic guess or calculation on avg. gram per ton?
Comment by captainpooby on Jan 11, 2020 6:40am
I used 1gm per ton because that is a common cut off grade for resource estimates. I did some rough numbers looking at drill results but I couldn’t get real grip on it that way. I looked at other mines and grades they had as well. I even used a drill hole grade calculator I found online and plugged a couple drill hole results into it. I could not get an honest to goodness accurate number but I can ...more

Let me add, I was after the volume of the strike more than the grade. Everyone was guessing, “400x200x200” etc etc and I set out to accurately measure the volume of the 3D model itself. Fell free to use whatever numbers you like. :) what do you think is the average grade in there?
Comment by CdnBadger on Jan 11, 2020 3:58pm
No one can accurately predict average grade at this point but we don't really need to. We know we have 1gpt all day long. The high grade intercepts pretty much guarantee we will be averaging above 1gpt. Conservative at 1gpt if the whole fault is in fact similar it puts us into massive territory. 500m down by 15000m long by 200m wide times 1gpt times 1.5 gravity(simplified) divided by 31.1 is ...more

With some luck around timing, Great Bear may become the largest takeover of an explorer in the gold industry's history. Keep adding as much as you can on the dips folks as the buyout will be a minimum 40% higher than the 30 day average.

There is no average grade in a bonanza field.  The one gram per ton is a separate mineralization, equally important.  Two scenarios here.  One a high grade narrow vein Kirkland/Timmins/Red Lake style.  But this property also hosts a lower grade widely disseminated near surface Detour/Malartic style.  This looks like the real deal to me, wish I had Gwen whispering in my ear ...more

The beauty here is little waste, we mine the high grade but we cutting through lower grade but still worth money.

I was leaning closer to 2gm. Of course doubling on your numbers. I appreciate being conservative however, having had my share of disappointments along with wins. However conservative with GBR still leaves the potential for jaw dropping that we all anticipate, and if it's more.... Hoping for 3 back to back to back NR's on NSR, Results, Drill Deployment over the next 3 weeks. Hoping for a ...more
