Weird trading today

Today, a low of 17.41, a high of 18.74 with 17 minutes left at time of this post. Are drugs and/or alcohol a factor?
Is it efforts to manipulate?

To me it's the algos...may have triggered a stop loss...by accident I am sure !

How is it the "algos" are allowed to exist?  That's like a person working out, becoming stronger, learning to defend themself unarmed, becoming proficient at self defense and then some one taking them out with a machine gun.

Remember 75% of those traders LOSE money over time...the houses pocket the money. Gambling pure and simple. The underlying value still remains !

Going to put my tinfoil hat on and say that they were matched trades, which is illegal in the US, but I have no idea how the regulatory framework works in Canada/Ventures.   Here's an example: https://www.sec.gov/news/press-release/2019-101 Create the illusion of volume, depress the price of the stock, and hope it starts a stampede.  As I watch the trades go across for GBR, i ...more
