Was in the Bay the other day..

went throught the cosmetic department and saw three reasons this company is sick.
1. Ther were no customers in the store
2. There was far too many staff in that department
3. Most of the girls were playing on their phones didn't even look up
This play may not survive.

I recall when Eaton's was Canada's darling and the Eaton family considered retail royalty. I lived on a lake just north of Toronto and occasionally I would see the Eaton family floatplane land and I could only assume members of the royal family would be spending the weekend at the lodge.   Then the wheels fell off and now the only time I see Eaton's mentioned is on the occasional ...more

I drop my wife off at work every Sat/Sun then walk around the Eaton Center and the Bay afterwards... On weekends the store is crawling with people and its hard to get a salesperson to assist you as they are so busy, so i guess it depends on when you are shopping and what location you go to, as well as what season it is (holidays etc). Retail has its slow and busy seasons unlike other service ...more

Based on a recent experience of mine, don't hold your breath waiting for HBC to become a factor in online business. I saw a bed on sale that I tried to order for delivery to my residence in Eastern Ontario. Even though they promoted on their website that a $30 standard charge would apply, imagine my shock when they added $625 (i.e. 60% of the cost of the bed) for delivery. Despite several ...more
