REIT

Could someone please explain to me what a Spinoff to  REIT means? What happens to the stock HBC? Does it then become HBC REIT or is it a separate entity altogether.....TY

I'm planning to buy in CanTire a new bathroom sink and water taps to replace the current sink which has rusted through down under where it connects to the pipe, taps also no good. But it's hard to remove the old sink, it's kind of stuck there, ha
