KL.T is the result of the ‘merger’ between Kirkland Lake and Newmarket.
-
As a happy Newmarket shareholder, I was saddened to see our illustrious President, Doug Foster, treated as ‘redundant’ and shown the door.
-
Fosterville Apparently the town of Ellesmere was renamed Fosterville around 1903.
It was named after the Minister for Mines, Henry Foster MLA (1889-1902).
It is just a coincidence, I think, that the president of The Fosterville Mine was Doug Foster.

-
Is Doug Foster currently unemployed and living in a trailer park?
-
Now he is the Chairman of the Board at Calibre Mining Corp [CXB.V],
“Building Gold-Silver-Copper Resources in Nicaragua.” -
Now on page four of the following document, Calibre implys that they had owned Newmarket Gold.

Newmarket itself was founded, only about a year ago, as a take over of Crocodile Gold Mining.
I got in at the time of the IPO, so I don’t have a long history.
Actually, I don’t ever remember hearing of Calibre Mining before, perhaps I was just not paying attention.
-
Whatever happened to Doug Foster, president of Newmarket?
-
Quote:
-
Calibre is the new Doug Forster play.
-
Forster, you may recall, was the force behind the success of Newmarket Gold—a stock we more than doubled our money on before its recent merger with Kirkland Lake Gold.
-
Whenever something like this happens, some great talent is freed up to focus on new things.
-
Forster told me in our meeting that Calibre is now his focus, and he intends to make it another big winner for shareholders. -
End Quote.
-
[RJ - I have no shares in Calebre, and I have no immediate plans to have any.
However, as an IPO participant of Newmarket, I find the story interesting and relevant.
Any comments? ]
