Mr Baker, retiring after 23 years at Hecla

It was sudden! No fair-thee-well?  That said it's not Mr. Bakers only gig, but optics are everything and to be frank there where quite a few issues that landed on his watch, some safety related. Some financial and maybe some bad investment calls.  Not that everything is direclty his fault to be fair.  IMO If it was for personal reasons better to just have put it out there.

The rest of this is just for entertainment reading while your sitting at home sipping your uber eats hand delivered Starbucks latte, half sweet, extra hot.

If you think that HL is the best silver miner out there, you might want to move on... :).

A lot has happened in a short period of time that could set investors in edge.  As for analysts, anyone who believes is IMO in for a surprise.

Instead, look at the people, balance sheet, income statement, reserves and what they are selling.  Yes HL may go to $10 but are you willing to lay 100K on that bet, I'm not.  Analysts and investor houses play with OPM.  Be greedy (fair is fair) and ask why am I trading my hard earned cash for paper. ;)

Here's what I see as some talking points during the last board round table, other than of course the usual financials and investors comments. ;)

LF fall of ground, GC change to open pit due to resource issues and profit, KH struggling? (and I will mention it is possible if there are few seasons of  losses, they'll be banging the plywood on the windows).  In fact it could be like the Clynt era all over.  LOL

LF and UCB method is one thing, KH and UCB another, I personally think Clynt forgot to mention the difficult ground?   HL needs to get this mine profitableasap while silver is where it's at or higher.

Of the large HL (overloaded?) board maybe some investment houses thought a top down haircut was in order?

Maybe Clynt is looking for a more prestigeous position and for sure he was always great at the BS (Blue Sky). ;)

Anyway I hope the best to all and remember to have fun.

Well, there's a big-hopeful project in NW Montana that's been bogged down for a few years, what with challenges from environmentalists, NGO groups, and the Montana Department of Environmental Quality (“DEQ”). One article refers to potential 500MM oz of silver and 4B lbs of copper, but permitting has been a problem. There are almost 40 references to 'Montana' in the fine cautionary ...more

Absoulutely right that's why KH was so important, it had the permiting in place, I took the reasons given and still do with a grain of salt.  :)  I do believe Mr. Baker was under a lot of pressure to produce results todays shareholders want to see immediate action or at least believe they are getting it.  In hindsight Clynt was amazing with the BS (Blue Sky) stuff. :) That said ...more
