So it's Friday and I'm watching the sun

rise over the bay, thinking.

Yeah I do that sometimes. lol.  Lots of promo BS (Blue Sky) on HL lately regards aquiring juniors whole or parts thereof with stock.  Yeah whatever, those'll just show up as expenses.  Of course HL is  looking at DV, CAM and quite a few others either locally or internationally, non of this is overnight, but makes the news.

I think HL glances at CAM,  invests (nothing wrong with that), shares do a little pop (why not), CAM and HL do the happy dance (of course they do). lol  I'll let it rest as to why that didn't happen with AXU.

HKH almost 2 years in and we're still wondering, hopefully HKH adds to the bottom net this year, otherwise, I bet,  there's going to some more questions at the next annual.   Sure cash flow is everything but not when it's just servicing debt.  BTW It would be amazing to have bit more news from HL regards the Skagway loading facility. Skagway seems to have their own agenda.

Silver increases appears to not reflect HL share price and in fact a quick comparison of early 2023 silver seems to show share price lagging, it's like it's stuck in mud? Thoughts?

IMO HL needs to concentrate and focus, maybe Mr Baker's leaving was telling maybe it's a board and management run by committee.  ;)   Sometimes that's issue in having a leveraged company with 65% ownership by investment houses?

The idea that the current finanials will be resolved by just hauling silver out of the ground (using advanced methods) and pokin a few holes, just to break even or loose money,  to create cash flow to service debt will sooner or later cause dissatisfaction, perhaps to the
dissatisfaction of Mr. Baker?

To go deep is to go expensive (goes with out saying risk increases, it can be engineered out  but it's going to cost).  This was an issue at LF way back to 2017.

I beleive the cost at HKH might surprise..  It appears they've already had to go from wooden bents to steel and shotcrete.  Between the increased spoil and expense of prcessing  here's hoping the grades are like nothing ever seen before at Keno Hill.

"... maybe Mr Baker's leaving was telling ..." If you read the article I linked to on 5/26/24 there are strong hints related to Montana permitting and a juicy property, also much comment in the notes of the 2023 Annual Hecla report. The article is from 2021, but the saga has been ongoing for years. Montana wants some money, but should that project be approved, and should the ...more

Thanks Roberto, nice midnight reading.  ;)  "Montana wants some money, but should that project be approved, and should the estimates of the property's worth prove accurate, that could mean a boost for HL." True. Had a second read thanks for suggesting a deeper dig. So the solution was to  "release Mr. Baker" from his duties? "Hecla may come into ...more

Forgot to mention - in the '90s UKHM had an environmental/reclamation bond in place for $104,000. The 'good' old days. That wouldn't even pay for the paperwork these days.

Or it would of paid for 10 nice pickups for the crew. :)  Now it pays for one in the driveway.  ;) Everyone was well aware that natural "pollution" was also curring so remediation wasn't really high on the list.  In fact times were just different.  That said I do beleive that mining has become more able to deal with the remediation in an ongoing basis.  ...more
