what's up with HLP.Un SP...

Very disappointing..seems like a well run company but SP is not performing...in a good market price keeps going down..I bought in a recently...yield is 8-9% so who is selling and why....has dropped over 5% in last 10 days...that pretty well kills the good yield...is there something going on behind the scenes that is not pretty??

Isn't this invested mainly in US properties? Could the current debate over Obamacare funding have an effect. I also own a Canadian healthcare reit and, while reits overall are down, the Canadian one has rebounded a bit while this hasn't. Just a thought.

I share your opinion re: this company..it appears to be a very well run company with a seemingly fairly safe concept with the way their properties are leased. Looks to me like the stock is being played..I could be wrong but looks like they get some press..it gets a run then gets shorted..and winds back down...too back I was going to take a big position but not now....whoever the players are they are working it up to 10.20-40..then back to 9.40-50...that's an 80 cent spread..so the legit investors ..get yo yo'ed up and down...too bad I ...more

You may well be right, but i'm hoping that it's just the jittery U.S. economy that is spooking some people into selling. All I know is that I have done a fair amount of research on this company and as you have stated, they have a very a very good business concept, and i like their business model. I have invested a sustantial amount of money in this stock, and am not opposed to ivesting ...more

Ok,thanks for input..I'm listening. Do you think with the DD you have done and the additional properties HLP...has acquired that the prospect of a dividend increase is in the cards. That would certainly be a game changer in the stock evaluation...and put a monkey wrench into any shorts.??

To be fair, a dividend hike is hard to predict..it would be welcome alright, but it already is at a pretty generous percentage given the stock price..but it definitely is a possibility. What we have to remember is that we have an aging population, and the need for facilities that HLP provide will always be in demand.Another very good thing is that the properties that they have acquired are all ...more
