Konstantin lives!!!

I sent a few emails to IR a couple of weeks ago and waited long enough that I figured their was little desire to chat.  Not so.
My questions:
I have a number ofquestions, which I would appreciate answers to.
First of all, there havebeen numerous reports about a possible IPO of Nord Gold.  As HRG is a significantasset in the Nord Gold portfolio, could you tell me what the management of HRGcurrently believe is a fair value for HRG?
Secondly, when caninvestors expect to hear news regarding the Prognoz bankruptcy?
Third, I was anticipating drillingupdates in the latest quarterly reports.  The former CEO suggested thiswould be the case.  With the strength in the gold market, I believe that aseries of updates could boost the share price significantly.  Would youconsider releasing the current results?
Finally, even with anaggressive drilling program and Bissa mine construction, HRG will continue tobuild its cash position.  What are you anticipating to do with the cashsurpluses?  Is priority placed on more drilling, acquisitions, dividends.. .?

Konstantin's answers:

1. As the CEO ofHRG I am not in a position to comment on a possible IPO of Nord Gold.

2. HRG management expects the news regarding the Prognoz bankruptcy come onthe last week of December at the earliest or in Q1 2011.

3. We anticipate the drilling results to be disclosed in the firsthalf of 2011.

4. Bissa mine construction and drilling program are the priority which willincur significant expenses.

I can't say that I am overwhelmed by the answers.  The biggest problem for me is simply the need to have patience.  We knew all of this information before.  The former CEO stated that he considered HRG a major gold producer and didn't feel necessary to post every drill result.  He also had suggested that he wasn't concerned about the day to day (month by month?) share value.  It seems that Konstantin is following along this same pathway.

It seems that most of the good news will be in the New Year.  Cheers for 2011 guys, fill up your TFSA accounts and wait for the press releases.

Don't you think that they will offer the buy out price before they announce the prognoz result?

So, we have a CEO who is a former lawyer answering some small retail investors question.  Since it took a couple of weeks to get a response, I came to the conclusion I wouldn't hear anything.  What we need to ask ourselves is why did he even bother send out an email if the sole intent purpose is to run us over. The answer to me seems quite plain.  Severstal needs us.  They ...more

No.  I totally disagree.  Getting the sales price up now - to FAIR valuation and TODAY'S understood mining issues is what SHOULD be happening because that sets to FLOOR to OVERACHIEVE on the per share price. So these idiot Russians are doing nothing but shaking the tree.  Shake Shake Shake. They are stupid, which i why their business people are totoal fools on the world stage.Any ...more

marketmaker,I agree with you for the most part, however, they will not be able to steal another 25M shares in the open market . There has not been and will not be the kind of volume for them to do so.  The 2.5M shares the other day was purely manipulation, with 1.5M shares just a cross from Goldman Sh_t to another.  So why do they continue to screw with us and  ...more

Russians are very good in business. Obviously you do not know any Russian business people. Russians are some of the wealthiest in the world now.

What are the chances that Severstal plans to steal Prognoz from HRG?  Anything is possible coming out of Russian bankruptcy court.  Any comments?

I don't like to stereo type......but sometimes it's necessary!!  SOME Russians are among the wealthiest in the World because of the corrupt illegal behavior their government turns a blind eye at.  Their most wealthy businessman can be compared to the likes of Al Capone and other mobsters!!  They steal companies and their country's resources to feed their own egos and ...more

Agreed on that. Russia is a mafia state.

And Putin is the head criminal of that state.

My strategy is quite simple.  I will stay long with my small holdings and add to them as opportunities of even more extreme manipulated low balling will occur.  And if it takes 2 years so be it.  I will NOT budge and I hope that you feel the same way about that.  I think there is terrific value here, even without Prognoz,  so if needed I have time, and lots of it.   ...more
