Konstantin lives!!!
I sent a few emails to IR a couple of weeks ago and waited long enough that I figured their was little desire to chat. Not so.
My questions:
I have a number ofquestions, which I would appreciate answers to.
First of all, there havebeen numerous reports about a possible IPO of Nord Gold. As HRG is a significantasset in the Nord Gold portfolio, could you tell me what the management of HRGcurrently believe is a fair value for HRG?
Secondly, when caninvestors expect to hear news regarding the Prognoz bankruptcy?
Third, I was anticipating drillingupdates in the latest quarterly reports. The former CEO suggested thiswould be the case. With the strength in the gold market, I believe that aseries of updates could boost the share price significantly. Would youconsider releasing the current results?
Finally, even with anaggressive drilling program and Bissa mine construction, HRG will continue tobuild its cash position. What are you anticipating to do with the cashsurpluses? Is priority placed on more drilling, acquisitions, dividends.. .?
Konstantin's answers:
1. As the CEO ofHRG I am not in a position to comment on a possible IPO of Nord Gold.
2. HRG management expects the news regarding the Prognoz bankruptcy come onthe last week of December at the earliest or in Q1 2011.
3. We anticipate the drilling results to be disclosed in the firsthalf of 2011.
4. Bissa mine construction and drilling program are the priority which willincur significant expenses.
I can't say that I am overwhelmed by the answers. The biggest problem for me is simply the need to have patience. We knew all of this information before. The former CEO stated that he considered HRG a major gold producer and didn't feel necessary to post every drill result. He also had suggested that he wasn't concerned about the day to day (month by month?) share value. It seems that Konstantin is following along this same pathway.
It seems that most of the good news will be in the New Year. Cheers for 2011 guys, fill up your TFSA accounts and wait for the press releases.

Russians are very good in business. Obviously you do not know any Russian business people. Russians are some of the wealthiest in the world now.

What are the chances that Severstal plans to steal Prognoz from HRG? Anything is possible coming out of Russian bankruptcy court. Any comments?

Agreed on that. Russia is a mafia state.
