LSE "NORD"

Ok so now we begin.  So add NORD to your stock quotes on the LSE.

High of $8.50 USD  bid and ask $7.80 USD

So now that Norgold is trading with a thin spread of 10.6% of the outstanding shares at around $ 7.80 on the LSE, it would be really interesting to know how many shares are out there in total (incl the other 89.4% held by Mordashov).  if we know that we could calculate the cap and from there using approx 50% the value of HRG.  Anybody knows? If it is around 4 B $, HRG should be fairly ...more

That is close to my calculations. From the Nord Gold website (https://www.nordgold.com/en/investor-relations/share-information.aspx), "Nordgold's share capital is divided into 358,794,180 shares." 358,794,180 x 7.8 GBX = 2,798,594604 GBX Convert to CAD: 2,798,594604 GBX x 1.3 = 3,638,172,985 CAD Based on 50% attributed to HRG, thats 1,819,086,492 or $2.16 per HRG share. How long will ...more

As we can see we essentially agree, except that 1 GBX = 1.54 $ US  or 1.55 $ CAN and not 1.3. The 1.3 is for conversion to the Euro. Thus:   7.8 X 359 M x 1.55 = 4.34 B $ CAN   Now with total shares outstanding being 839 M  the value per share would be then 2.59 $ CAN, when we assume that 1NORD = 2 HRG.  So that still leaves us with a present  valuation of only half ...more

Wow! Thanks for the catch! You are completely correct, I did the conversion to the Euro. Huge difference.   I was initially disappointed when I did my calculation because I thought $2.40 CAD (approx. 2 billion mcap) was most appropriate. I am no longer disappointed. Thanks again Wolf E!

Mordi seems dissapointed about the market debut. They already think about how getting more attention...promoting HRG should help! https://uk.reuters.com/article/2012/01/20/uk-severstal-nord-gold-idUKTRE80J0DJ20120120

No mention of their 50% supplier....High River Gold WTF?? Roughly 25 percent of its gold production stems from the LEFA mine in Guinea, and the chief executive said his company has not encountered any of the difficulties experienced by Russian aluminium giant RUSAL (0486.HK), which has been mired in a series of disputes with the government and unions. Trying to calm fears about Guinea? Why don' ...more

I've sent an email off to Nord asking this very question. IF they reply i will let everyone know what they have to say about it. It doesn't make a ton of sense that they aren't promoting HRG now unless there is another offer coming at a low price. Either that or they don't care if the company remains public (as they stated in the Nord conference call) but they dont want to promote ...more

@ Tryte.....good for you. I wonder if Nord is as unresponsive as HRG regarding email questions. They better not be if they really want to sell this thing to the public. NM67

They have only responded to one of my emails so far. Since i told them most shareholders were unlikely to take less than $3 a share i have yet to recieve any further emails.

Since we know that Nord is trading at 7.8USD/share, the current market cap is essentially 2.8BUSD (or CAD) However, to calculate what HRG should be worth, I would suggest the following: I assume that we believe HRG = 1/2 Nordgold Where it gets tricky is that this 2.8BUSD does not constitute the full Nordgold production.  Why?  Because the 2.8B USD does not include the additional 1/4 of ...more

Hi all, I am confused is Nord Gold on the LSE priced in GBX or USD? On the LSE website it is quoted in USD @ $7.8 but on the Nord Gold website it is quoted in GBX @ $7.8. There is a 30%? difference......
Comment by discern1 on Jan 21, 2012 11:36am
Nordgold website says USD.
Comment by WolfgangE on Jan 21, 2012 11:44am
Yes I agree this is really confusing.  But when i looked at the HRG valuation I used GBX as stated in the Nordgold Trading Graph on the Share Info page of Nordgolds' website.  Yet on the title page it says US $ 7.80 per share. From the LSE quotes on NORD it was also given in US $ thus my presentation on attempting to value HRG were based wrongly on BTX instead of US $.  I think ...more

I think this is an oversight on Nord's part. The home page shows USD but if you click on the share information page it shows GBX. Its worth emailing them to find out. I think its likely USD because thats  the way the LSE lists it.
Comment by WolfgangE on Jan 21, 2012 11:57am
At first glance it looks easy:  Nordgold = 2x the value of HRG,  right?   Well not quite: Yes I agree this is really confusing.  But when Ii looked at the HRG valuation I used GBX as stated in the Nordgold Trading Graph on the Share Info page of Nordgolds' website.  Yet on the title page it says US $ 7.80 per share. From the LSE quotes on NORD it was also given in US $ ...more
