How could this deal happen?
I've read everyone's comments and I'm left to wonder how this deal could be done. Listening to mudcreeker comments I believe he says common shareholders would probably get nothing. Listening to homestone comments I believe he says shareholders could get somewhere around 10 cents. His justification is that New Gold and Appian paid for their shares I'm suspecting somewhere around $.15 and higher. If you take the position that shareholders will get next to nothing then they pay very little for the company but then they have to pay I'm suspecting close to $150 million to the debt holders. So that's one scenario where all the shareholders including New Gold and Appian including all the retail shareholders get zero but the debt holders get paid. I believe Appian a new gold would want to recover their equity investment and for Appian their debt. I know mudcreeker is going to disagree but if the price be at least $.15 which for simplicity let's say works out to $150 million to pay out the shareholders. Then that new buyer Would also have to inject another $150 million to pay all the debt holders. Then they would have to inject working capital to continue the operations.
this is a complicated one because do you think Appian and New Gold would agree to get absolutely nothing on their shares that they paid for?
Based on that news release I am interpreting that the value they're putting on the shares is probably zero which means I'll be in a new gold would get nothing Based on that news release I am interpreting that the value they're putting on the shares is probably zero which means appian and new gold would get nothing including retail.
