Hoodwink

Why dont you simply try to look at the "CUP 1/2 Full Program" believe it or not people whom spend every minute of there life treading water in misery will find that "Carefull What You Wish For" was coined for a reason. NOw I suppose you will say "Blind Faith" is equally bad but what the hell boy.........."The Grass Is always Greener on The Other Side. EOM    K Man

Well Jimbo I wonder what you would say to all those who were holding NIKO last year when it was trading at well over a $100, that has since fallen to around 5 bucks.  It sure seems to me that the phrase "the SP never lies" sure sounded a bit hollow when it was at those levels, just as it sounded pretty hollow whenTeck was trading around 4 bucks just some short four years ago ...more

The market is never wrong about what a stock is worth at any given moment.  The prices are set by two competing points of view that both think  the other is wrong.

Buyers, particularly buyers who are underwater are so convinced that they are right that they think that the sellers are really buyers in disguise. lol

The prices are set by two competing points of view that both think  the other is wrong. Not that simple. Like Little Bush....you are either with us or against us...global politics isn't a binary event and neither is investing. Usually when a SP is depressed there is a reason and when a SP soars to $100 its generally over exuberance from retail investors. It's no doubt the level HRP is at today is due to lack of finding oil, remember our CEO here may have shot his mouth off far to early and far too often. It's now a show me stock and I will invest even if the level is at $10.00, Most investors here ...more

I realize that. I just boiled it down to a couple of lines.  Most of the trading is done by opposing view points.

There are many more reasons to sell than buy a stock. In fact stocks were invented to be sold.

So why is HRT such a pos compared to UNX? Where would UNX have gotten the capital to drill offshore Nam without dilution up the ying yang? How many billion of barrels of oil has DP found? remember our CEO here may have shot his mouth off far to early and far too often. I will continue to take cues from the market not loud mouth CEO What about loud-mouthed CEO's that get handed a MCTO from the ...more

One of the main reasons that UNX got as high as it did was because of MM and his mouth. One of his big problems came from believing his own hype and way overpaying for UNX.  I daresay that right now UNX would be lucky to be above 80 cents a shareanbd probably more like 25 cents a share. I'm pretty sure that Schlumberger and Transocean will work for anyone that can afford them.

" So why is HRT such a poc compared to UNX?" Well if it wasn't for MM taking his HRT public i feel we would all be holding UNX around .10-.20 range today wasting our life away on a pipe dream like the ENG dreamers.   All in all we just got lucky with UNX.
Comment by nomomoney24 on Mar 24, 2013 5:06pm
You beat me to it,i hit send an your post was out robbin. UNX with out the luck of MM needing property would just be anouther pieace of junk Venture stock.

Are you the same Ogo that road this POS from $10.00 to a spectacular 94 cents and you have the b@@@alls to call out other investors. They have therapy and medication for ADD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't care why UNX went up just that it did and it retired my a@@@@ss.
Comment by robnhood on Mar 24, 2013 7:19pm
Wasn't just MM needing property. UNX really pushed what MM said about Namibia as being holy gospel;.This really helped to propewl it higher. It was a pump fior sure.
Comment by nomomoney24 on Mar 24, 2013 9:11pm
"UNX really pushed what MM said" Off course they did, that's what anyone would do.Thats there job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UNX was taken over at a negotiated price,i think one poster even new what that price was.

Robnhood: When there are wild gyrations on any given stock then it clearly points to the fact that the market is ignorant and doesn't "know" anything, and by extension one can say that those buying and selling probably don't know for certain either.  In fact one can posit that the market is always ignorant by definition, and that the price is simply a reflection of investor ...more

I did not say the market always gets it right. What I did say is that the market for your investment at any given mnoment in time is what you can buy or sell it for. What you or anyone else thinks that a stock is worth is irrelevant to that.  As far as manipulationgoes, there is far more of that kind of stuff on the upside than the downside.  In hrp's case if there was ever any ...more

Hood, you are right. What should the market value of a company be that has spent $700 million on stranded gas, has no production and if they don't find oil in the next 9 months it's all over.
