Japan...Really?
So. The Japanese, who as a nation have the most to lose from the impending squeeze on heavy rare earth supplies, suddenly announce a huge discovery of heavy rare earths just as prices start to catch up with the reality of the shortage...Really?
Even if it is genuine, this resource is many years away from commercial production (if ever given the engineering challenge of the location). No more relevant to heavy rare prices in the immediate time horizon than the queue of Lyns', Molycorps etc.
Any weakness tomorrow (after US holiday today) in the REM space that impacts DSM is THE buying opportunity of the next 12-18months.
Cheers

Apologies to all on this board. Previous post was meant for DSM not ICI. Explains why I could not see it!CheersPS - DSM (Dacha Strategic Metals) is an interesting one btw for anyone following the rare earth story.
