Excellent quarter

What can I say, Intact Financial knocked it out of the park with their latest results. Caught completely off guard by the lack of a dividend raise but from what I can gather, the present regulatory enviornment is frowning on any and all financial institutions raising dividends/share buybacks, in fact the banks have been told no, in no uncertain terms. Intact indicated they will look to bump up the dividend later on in the year, which to me means in the 3rd quarter at the latest. They have ample room based on their numbers to do a 7-10% raise. Stock is a buy on any real weakness in the upcoming months. The market will start to price in the merger fairly soon and IFC's numbers will only get better.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quarter too.  It was a nice beat.  As you indicated, they mention a dividend increase is coming.
