CZO

I know this is the GEL board, but in case anyone believes penny stocks are a fools game....Check out CZO.  I got in under 20 cents last fall and out a year later @ $1.62. It has since continued to run and has lots of upside.  Showing profit and raised $5million from a private placement.  My only regret is I didn't buy more when it was under 20 cents.  There are no guarantees, and I've had some positons go south, but don't let anyone tell you there isn't serious money to be made.  There is and I have and you can too!!!!  (This message was sponsored by "Cut the BS And Let's Invest").

Exactly, couldn't agree more. At this point what's most important is not the little penny changes in stock price but whether or not the company can grow their revenue quickly and improve their financial standing. Their debt levels definitely do need to decrease as well.

Yes Jpete.  Liquidity is an issue at this point and the 12% interest on their long term debt is high, but but not crazy high for a company at their stage of developement.  Hey it is possible to make money getting in and out of volatile stocks.  That's what I do in my TFSA.  But I am taking a longer view of GEL.  Happy hunting folks.  And I make mistakes.  Got ...more

Hi Klepto - I may be reading this wrong as this is just an observation but I hope you're not getting in and out of stocks in your TFSA?  This is how it reads below if you're not holding them for a specific period of time prior to selling. Also the hold period is sketchy, as I've heard these periods range from 3 mnths to a year depending whom you contact. About the company, it ...more

I appreciate your concern BKB, but who ever gave you that information was mistaken.  There is no holding period for stocks traded in a TFSA.  There is a downside in that losses are not tax deductible, however I've found that is more than offset because I pay no capital gains taxes so assuming I'm gaining more than losing, I'm ahead.  Also U.S. dividends are subject to ...more

This is interesting.  I'll look into it as I had thought this would be the case to prevent ppl using this acct for day trading.

Frequent traders in TFSA's have had their gains taxed....google it!

you guys aren't getting tired of attempting a pump? and a half-assed one at that.

I have a letter from CRA confirming that gains within TFSA's are not taxable.  That being said CRA is famous for doing stupid things. I spent 5 years being treated like public enemy number 1 because I overpaid GST on a business I closed.  They eventually gave me the overpayment with interest, but--5 frickin' years? They have targeted high yelding accounts run by alleged day ...more
