This stock is volitile

I hold a fair position on Ivanhoe and my intention is to hold it until the summer and then dump as I suspect the price will be around 2.50$ to 3.00$.  This is how it has been trading over the past three to four years.

 

I will then pick up another position in December and sell again the following summer.

Been there, done that. This year though looks different, with seemingly new 160 million in the kitty from the sale of the assets to Shell, prices of oil closing on 108 dollars per barrel, the price should be close 2.50 by now. Must be some skelleton in the closet. I guess the market does not like, when they can not concentrate on delivering solid production from one of the assets. Insted they do ...more

Thanks tatko.   This is around the time when it starts to climb again.  I truly believe that the HTL technology works and with oil prices on the climb the turnaround can happen anytime now.   This is a stock I will love to hold.  I was in early on TransGlobe (got in at 1.01$ in 1993) and held on.  I feel that Ivanhoe can do much the same.  I may grab anotherr 2K ...more

Ever since I started following them in 2006, there was always a hype about this HTL technology. My understanding is that they have it proven since 4-5 years ago. Yet, despite them claiming to be a revolution in heavy oil field, nobody wanted to risk their dollars to go into a partnership with them. The question is why. Presumably it should save about 20 bucks per barrel in production and ...more
