Chinese deal coming? Ivanhoe offer? Review comes end of Sept.

All speculation but the last news release did mention the Chinese oil company is doing an audit of their companies operations and will at end of quarter be able to sign a deal with Ivanhoe on a new contract for Ecuador and possible other spin off work from Chinese oil owned patches.

" The NOC recently advised Ivanhoe that some of its international projects, including the Block 20 project, are currently under review. Ivanhoe is waiting for the NOC to complete its review before moving forward to finalize the joint-venture agreement. Ivanhoe anticipates that this review will continue until the end of the third quarter of 2014."
(Third quarter: from the beginning of July to the end of September)

The Chinese would like very much to have ownership of HTL ( heavy crude to light crude technology that Ivanhoe is the leader in the oil patch. In my own opinion i think Ivanhoe is ripe for a bid to purchase from CNOC Chinese National Oil Company. Would shareholders of Ivanhoe accept an offer or reject it?

Longsuffering shareholders would jump at any offer, but it is a tightly held company.   Two reverse splits, a string of non-specific news releases laced with words like "intends to participate"....................  CFO gone after just a few months. Ivanhoe remains an engma...................

They have had issues with regard to their timeline forecasts before so when it states they 'anticipate that this review will continue until the end of the third quarter of 2014' I hope that it works out that way.  If there is a takeover the price would have to be very high in comparison to the current shareprice.  If I remember correctly Robert Friedland purchased most of his ...more
