This proves my earlier points that stated that Glencore never intended NOT to pay Gertler and that they would work this out... possibly with Chinese "help"... Glencore has always been in full compliance with its Royalty obligations but got "up-ended" by US Sanctions against the named individual. Mark my words: this will be resolved and in private. These are my views only ...more

Makes sense - Getler is a bit of a political "hot potatoe" in so far as if Glencore were to loose the case, and have to pay him - the US would probably make their (Glencore's) lives very, very difficult. Maybe if it's a favourable settlement the KCC problem might dissapear as well ?

Good news. Thanks for posting and comments. Dan will have no chance to win in the London Court. It would be better for him to settle with Glencore out of court room. Considering Dan has very good relationships with Kabila, it will make sense for Glencore to settle with him as well since as you said that Glencore has been seeking ways to pay him for his loyalty.
