"A new report claims the electric vehicle market will reach a “tipping point” in 2022, when the cost of owning a BEV will equal that of owning a gas or diesel vehicle. The analysis comes from Deloitte, which also foresees EVs grabbing ten percent of the total market by 2024."

I think we're at the start of the S curve and I think a lot of these estimates will prove too modest and the uptake will surprise to the upside. 2024 is still 5 years away and every major brand has plans to produce EVs. I could easily see new sales in the UK being double the 10% forecast.

I agree. My own prediction would be two years earlier than that. China new energy cars already had 4.4% market share for new car sale last year. China will achieve 10% market share for new energy cars, probably in 2021..
