In part, it says "Katanga is one of Glencore’s most important growth assets and a key part of its investment case".

Oh, thanks. But I already knew that.

Continuing to quote Freyberg FT states:

"Copper and cobalt are materials that will be needed in greater quantities as transport and cities are electrified. “We are on track to deliver,” said Peter Freyberg, the head of Glencore’s industrial, or mining assets. “Katanga is going really well.”

So KAT "is going really well".

Of course it is. You just went from 86.4% owner to >99.4% owner which means you can now do whatever you want.

So it sounds like no good material news was delivered, to drive the stock price higher. Right?

That is correct as well Trump pi**ed on the parade essentially telling the world that he's now inclined to let any China deal - interim or otherwise - wait until after the next US election. So say goodbye to any near term firming in Cu (and Co) prices.
