Shorts...

Will be interesting to see how PDG short history changes for second half of Jan... released after close tomorrow... rather large 700K short position slapped on PDG during first 2 weeks of 2011... If short position has increased from this level I will be buying more sub-30 cents if available as these shorts could easily get caught in a squeeze IMO as potential for an actual good news release is too great. If short position has actually been reduced while share price tanking of late... then that not good sign for longs IMO. DYODD.

Red have you become a contrarian?  An increase in short positions usually means there is an expectation of further weakness and when shorts cover it usually means they believe a bottom has been set.If you had taken that view before the current 700K short you would have lost....

I see the 700K shorts as of Jan 15th as an abnormally large position that came out of nowhere that could possibly explain recent weakness here.  If this is the case... What's your trading strategy re: PDG?Sorry I missed your question before.  It's difficult to have a set strategy when juniors like PDG are news driven.  It is simply a case of analysing the fundamentals and weighing the risks at a particular time.  I tend to do this more seriously when news is expected in the next month or so but of course it is the unexpected news that ...more
