Laurentian Bank Securities announces the sale of assets

could the sale of asssets mean  takeover target? soon
Comment by Pandora on Apr 04, 2024 8:45pm
The bank said net proceeds of the $2B from the transaction are not expected to be material to the Bank. $2 Billion not material!

I was wondering the meaning of a non material transaction: Negligible? Intangible values considerstions?
Comment by nedstar71 on Apr 05, 2024 8:51am
As I understand it the 2 billion is just the amount in the accounts currently under administration by Laurentian Bank.  It's not related to the sale price, which is apparently not material.  Ie Laurentian doesn't own the 2 billion in assets in those accounts, clients do.
