This company was  Ryu's creation and his acquistions were based on giving the appearance of growth rather than buying schools based on value. In this business a school's most valueable assets are its people. Sounds cliche, but it is really true in this industry. Mr Ryu forced out anyone who actually knew how to operate the business and kept people who only said "Yes Mr. Ryu"

What is remaining of the schools and agencies is actually worth much less than when it was first purchased. Not to mention all the uinionization that took place thanks to his management style.

For all those pumpers who so gallantly defended Ryu, you get what you deserve. I for one believed in this stocks concept, but Mr Ryu was allowed to stay too long and now its just a total mess . A pariah in the industry.

Hawkeye, although I have never dissed you, let me be the first to say, "you were right!"  I could never get why no one would not step up to defend Ryu's honour. Not once. Let us hope that this company will develop under the new tutelage and that those damaged will get some sort of longterm salvation out of this. I am feeling sorry for Alistar today; the most loyal of soldiers - ...more

Very true, Hawkeye. Another very important asset for any school is its reputation. No student wants to earn a certificate from a school with a crappie reputation and no agent wants to refer a student to a school that is likely to go out of business at any time. Agents are extremely conscious of their reputations, too and virtually all Korean students are referred by agents. This is no secret in ...more
