ChungasRevenge: To answer your question seriously

ChungasRevenge:

I would like to take your question seriously, in which you asked:

"What is with all the ass kissing on this board",

I believe this is what may be going on here:

________
1) It appears to greatly bother you, that many of us value the input of Nawar.

2) Rightly so: I think the core part of your message is that none of us should ever just blindly base our investment decisions on one person. (I agree with you.)

3) In fact, while I can't speak for Nawar or put words in his mouth, I would venture to guess that even Nawar himself would probably agree with you, based upon his investing style.

4) So your core message seems to be:

*** DON'T base your investment decisions on the words of one person. ***

5) But your tactic in expressing what is a very valid point consists of name-calling, which comes off as a bit of a primitive, juvenile grade-3 style tactic.

6) For example, you've referred to Nawar as "Narwacko", and also insulted the entire board, by referring to us "@sskissers" or a "brotherhood". ("Brotherhood" is a word that has dark historic connotations, conjuring up images of dictators that force everyone to follow them like sheep).

7) By using this tactic to express your point, you might be alienating a lot of people, and your core message (which is actually an important/valid message) is not really getting through in an effective way.

8) So now, I look at Nawar's posts, which are: well thought out arguments (to the best of his ability), genuine interest in a company he has invested within, and not to mention he has put his money where his mouth is, and invested a lot of money into the company...

And then I look at your posts, and they seem a bit... childish... involving just name-calling...

So which posts do you think I will tend to value more?

9) There are others on this board that like to bring up some of the more negative concerns about Longview Oil, such as Itsalie, and bshort92, and some others.

10) bshort92 has an opposite opinion as me about longview oil, but still value and really like his posts and I even read his posts a couple of times, and ponder them, etc...

11) Finally, I think another problem that might be occuring here is that some people don't realize that this board is dual purpose, having 2 main purposes:

PURPOSE A:
A place to bring up concerns and critical arguments about problems within a company.

PURPOSE B:
A place for owners of a company to come together, and share their enthusiasm about owning a company, and why they think the company is great, and how in this case it's an exciting/fun time for Longview oil owners because it may get bought out, and extra value in the share price might get realized, and we might make a nice profit, etc...

12) So tensions occur when some people think this board should only be for Purpose A topics, or Purpose B topics, but not both, and they try to "force" this topic-limitation upon the other users.

13) So in short, some people think this board should be:

A or B (but not both)

But in reality, like it or not, it truly is:

A + B (both)

Thank you holographic for a well thought analysis and pointing out that some should be in kindergarden. And for those who put down others because they come out with objective numbers and views about the compagny, it makes me wonder if they are shorting the stock. Everyone should be doing there own DD anyway, and Nawar numbers should be verified, but it's a very usfull starting point. Tank ...more

Holographic, thank you for a very well reasoned post. But from my experience, the individual you are addressing will not respond in kind. Having said that, I agree with you, shareholders and potential investors in Longview should undertake their own due diligence. Generally speaking, I enjoy and welcome well thought-out counter arguments, I think they are enriching to this board and of great ...more

One more thought I wanted to add:  If it turns out that this particular deal does not go through (as sometimes happens with these types of deals), and the SP drops into the low/mid 4's for a bit of time as a result... I have no doubt that ChungasRevenge will not be able to help himself by posting a "I told you so!" type of message, just to rub salt into our collective wounds ...more

Nawar's stake in LNV is extensive. Anyone who owns the amount of shares he purchased has  some serious skin in the game. His desire to see a suitable suitor with similar synergies and perhaps a dividend paying model: TOG, SGY, CJ, WCP makes sense. He has a desire to see that position taken out at $6.25 to $6.50 a share. I say that amount is a bit high. I alluded to some upstarts ...more

Great points bshort92!  You're right in that I should have mentioned in my last post that although Nawar is simply a fellow shareholder, he happens to be a shareholder with a substantial holding in Longview Oil, as he stated in his public press release (I think he said he holds somewhere between 3 to 4 percent of the company if I am not mistaken).  But I think anyone who buys ...more
