Deutsche Bank Says Lithium Market Players Remain Optimistic

2023-06-26 11:31:20 AM ET (MT Newswires)

11:31 AM EDT, 06/26/2023 (MT Newswires) -- Deutsche Bank said Monday that players in the lithium market outlined an optimistic tone during the Lithium Conference, with majority of them believing that the sector remains undersupplied despite numerous projects going online for the next three to eight years.

The market is now focused on how crucial it is to establish regional hubs for the lithium supply chain. The bank said market players seem to better understand the needs for more partnership, which could help alleviate some of the challenges faced by supply.

Deutsche Bank noted the lack of pricing conversations this year, which was understandable given the higher volatility in the industry compared to last year.

The bank also expects major lithium producers to immediately benefit from establishing sustainable lithium materials.

Deutsche Bank also observed a higher level of conviction from consultants/key veterans in the space for further downstream/upstream partnerships.
