Dear God

Another mass shooting today at a elementry school in Conneticut.  28 dead.....18 little elementary school kids and 8 adults plus the shooter and another family member of the shooter.....maybe more.  What has happened to our world? 18 little kids reported ages 5 to 10 shot dead.

As I sit here stunned to put it mildly, all I can think of asking is.....Dear God, why?

Not sure why I posted this to this board.  I guess my heart just needed an outlet to do so.

Unimaginable.  And there was a pipe bomb found outside a school in the Bay Area yesterday and the mall shooting outside Portland just a few days ago.  Luckily his gun jammed. It's okay to post, Far.  We are all in this together.  When it is hardest we must hold tight to our values, our higher Power and our loved ones.   'These are the times that try men's souls ...more

Sharpei, Indeed a very fitting quote by Thomas Paine that you shared.  Most of us have those values, beliefs and wonderful families to love.  But values and beliefs in a higher power and experiencing love both giving and recieving is getting more distant to many I am afraid. Life is cheap to many.  We are living in dark times.  I live in a small town in ...more

'DON'T DO THAT AGAIN!' Okay'I Didn't do it on purpose, but it did take me on an odyssey.  It turned out very well.  I think I have said to you, THEY say God protects fools and drunks.'  Seems it's true. Bar? Where is he? What is he doing?  It has been a very long while. Has he missed his target $1.60?  Remember he was going to get back in there. ...more

Signs of the Times - What Are the Signs of Christ's Imminent Return? More signs of Christ's return exist today than at any time in history. In Matthew 16 v.3 Jesus rebuked the people of His day for failing to recognize the "signs of the times" that heralded His first coming. How much more reason do we have today to recognize the signs of His second coming? We are surrounded by ...more

Cheers, Bar. Nice to see you again. I've got it...$2.25 crossover.  Could be tomorrow. I'm gonna stick my neck out here, but I think we will see $3.24/$3.25 by year end....possibly before Christmas...tho not sure on that. Sharpei (I think I just added a new wrinkle.)
Comment by barsolid on Dec 16, 2012 12:50pm
Are you saying 3.25 before this year's X-mas or next year.  This year seems very unlikely and by the end of nextr year I am hoping forf 4.00.  We are now goingf into the slow season fdor stocks so I don't expectr much until aftger the holidays.  We will see. glta

Oh Bar: I was waiting for that reply. May 18 to Sept 28 completed wave 1-5 (then countertrend wave-$1.72); Sept 28 to Nov 16 completed wave 1-5 (then countertrend wave-$1.51); Nov 16 to Dec 13 completed wave 1-5 (then countertrend wave-$1.85). Each set shorter than the one before it. They are very difficult to corral but I am hoping that I've captured them correctly. I believe that as far as ...more

Awesome call on CHOP, you made some solid coin there, but i still don't like them from past experiences.
Comment by barsolid on Dec 16, 2012 4:16pm
I agree Sharpei that we are forming a flat base but how do you see a breakout to 3.25.  Even using your notes from your post the range here is around 1.40 to 2.20 and that is .80 time .85 gives a price target of around 2.90. And the movement out of this type of base is usually choppy as he stated.  Also if you look at the length of the base as compared to the downtrend in the example you ...more

I can't be sure, but one thing I see is it appears that the end of the 'flat bottom' is in. That sideways 'W' for one, turning the corner for a vertical rise. A powerful rally should follow after eight months of a bottoming pattern.  (On 11/20 CHOP was at $1.06..went to $2.37a couple of days ago. It will come back down to about $1.75 (a,b,c countertrand) before taking off ...more

Bar, I do see how you arrive at that calculation.  I used different numbers, which I understand you likely dispute; but here goes:  $2.33(Could be more, could be less) / $1.30X .85=$3.2425.  The mystery here is that the numbers selected will have a certain percentage of subjectivity.   And besides, by his own admission, Bulkowski only recently discovered the pattern (since 2008 ...more

Firstly sharpei, I want to clearly say that I have no idea.  I know a fair amount about TA, but still it is all just guesswork.  Since you are so enthusiastic about it all something that you don't seem to follow or mention is volume and money flow.  Lots of different theories about price versus volume but I have been convinced since the 60's (yes that long ago) that price ...more

' something that you don't seem to follow or mention is volume and money flow' - a bit presumptuous on your part.  IN fact I do and others. I agree that in the final analysis it comes down to guesswork, after all one must interpret the indicators. Sharpei
Comment by barsolid on Dec 17, 2012 3:07pm
Not trying to be presumptuous.  I just noticed that most of your posts were price based info.  Lots of TA arguments that say that price is all that matters.  They might be right for all I know.  You talk about /fibonbocci, Elioit wave, trendlines, etc.  All good stuff.  I just follow volume and buying pressure more than most people who do TA since I started earlier ...more
