Slow and steady wins the race

A lot of younger investors I talk to that are investing are playing crypto, the meme stocks and now of course A.I. Who wants a boring 8% dividend fund when there is so much more excitement and money to be made with the high flyers that are the centre of conversations in social gatherings?

Of course, money is and will be made there, but unfortunately most investors will get wiped out leaving them with a sour taste, many who will never come back into the market. I'll admit I have a few high risk plays too, but nothing that adds up to more than 2% of my total portfolio.

Sometimes making one bad move can wipe away 5 good moves. Life is long and in my book, slow and steady wins the race.

You have to go to a few rodeos before you can ride the bull for 8 seconds!   The school of hard knocks is what these crypto investors are getting a taste of and it will  get far more sour before that house of scards collapses.    I like getting paid every month .
