Merger will drive the dividend

The Niagian partners want cash! They renegotiated the JV agreement to get more cash before payout. In order to complete a merger they will have to pay pay Mart for all assets (other than land which is 50/50) working capital, unpaid drilling costs plus any other assets. They are dragging their feet over farther drilling so they can generate more cash for the merger. Im my opinion, they would want ALL available cash to be paid out as a dividend prior to the merger, thus lowering the amount they must pay as part of the merger. After the merger they woulod want a regular dividend to recover any cash outlay plus they want regular cash (cash is king) which they would give up from the premerger condition.

I question whether we really want a merger at all accept for one thing and it is a biggie! I my opinion, the ONLY good reason for a merger is to allow clear ownership with only one entity for a sale of the company which could be 18 months away.

Unbelievable, really.  A company whose annualized FFO is greater than 2/3rd's of its current selling price, and that selling price continues to slide.  It ain't enough for this market. Unbelievable.
