Buyback vs Dividend

Anyone still think a buyback is the way to go? We just reported a phenomenal bump in EPS due to increase in earnings and the SP goes down. I don't see how a nominal increase in EPS due to buyback of outstanding shares is going to do any better.

I agree with you Larry. My point was that the overriding factor for MMT short/mid term SP is not fundamentals like EPS. IMO, the only factor carrying equal weight to the global picture is CASH, in the form of a dividend.

Absolutely.  On a day like today the markets are going south on matters generally not effected MMT, beyond the price of crude which is not helping.  As we all know cash is king and Mart has a ton of it.  The company will have to reduce the massive working capital surplus before any merger can happen as the Nigerians are too busy spending their money filling those massive boats ...more
